Controlled flight into terrain
Controlled flight into terrain (CFIT): crew-controlled aircraft flown into terrain, water or an obstacle, crew unaware of the impending disaster (TC AIM GEN 5.1).
Trap: Calling a stall, spin or system failure CFIT. Aircraft must be under crew control, crew unaware of the danger.
