Weighing near maximum weight
Near maximum weight: weigh and plan load. Never estimate.
Weigh when near MTOW (TC AIM RAC 3.4.2):
- Passengers: weigh.
- Baggage: weigh, not guess.
Commercial air operators (TC AIM RAC 3.4.7(e)): use actual weight of checked baggage and cargo, not estimate.
Plan W&B in advance (TP 1102):
- Tell passengers how much baggage allowed.
- If weight won't allow full fuel: arrange correct fuel load in tanks before flight.
Many 4- and 6-seat aircraft cannot carry full seats, full baggage, and full fuel together within limits: expect to trade one off (TC AIM RAC 3.4.2).
Trap: estimate that looks close enough when aircraft may be near MTOW.
