VFR weather deteriorating en route
TP 1102:
- Plan every flight with no risk of weather below VFR.
- Always carry an alternate plan.

| Weather deteriorating | Best: early 180 degree turn to better weather already crossed |
| No alternate route, still deteriorating | Contact ATC: alternate route plus radar navigation to keep VFR, else radar navigation or radar approach guidance |
| Any doubt about flight safety | Declare an emergency |
Trap: letting a doubtful situation develop into a bad one before declaring an emergency.
