Decelerometer CRFI reading
CRFI = average decelerometer reading of a runway (TC AIM AGA 1.1.3).
Decelerometer (TC AIM AIR 1.6.3):
- Vehicle-mounted. Measures decelerating force under braking.
- Graduated 0 to 1. 1 = theoretical maximum decelerating capability on dry surface.
- Reading 0.8 and above = braking coefficient expected on dry runway.
Test method (TC AIM AIR 1.6.3):
- Brakes applied at 300 m (1,000 ft) intervals along runway.
- Applied within 10 m (30 ft) either side of centreline.
- Readings averaged, reported as CRFI number.
Equipped aerodromes: listed in CFS under RWY DATA (TC AIM AGA 1.1.3).
Trap: 1 = theoretical dry maximum, not the dry-runway threshold; dry indication starts at 0.8.
