Runway holding position markings
Runway holding position marking: two solid lines + two dashed lines across the taxiway (TC AIM AGA 5.4.3).
- Where: near every runway/taxiway and runway/runway intersection, protecting the operational environment of the runway in use. May also protect arrival and departure flight paths to a runway (AGA 5.4.3).
- No marking visible or established: do not proceed within 200 ft (61 m) of the runway edge in use without ATC authorization (TC AIM RAC 4.2.6).
- Ladder-type pattern: more than one marking on a taxiway; the one nearest the runway is always the standard two-solid-two-dashed (AGA 5.4.3).
Trap: picking the farthest ladder marking as the standard one.
