Displaying aircraft marks in Canada
No person may operate an aircraft in Canada unless its marks are visible and displayed (CAR 202.01(1)):
| Aircraft | Marks per |
|---|---|
| Canadian | Aircraft Marking and Registration Standards (AMRS) |
| Foreign | Laws of its state of registry |
- Marks must stay clean and visible (TC AIM LRA 4.3).
Minister may authorize flight without displayed marks (CAR 202.01(2)-(4)):
- Purposes: exhibition, air show, motion picture or television production.
- Authorization and conditions must be carried on board; conditions must be followed.
Trap: thinking marks can be left off because the flight stays in Canada. Only Minister's authorization, for listed purposes, allows it.
