Terminal area charts (TAC and VTPC)

Terminal Area Chart (TAC):

• IFR chart, not the VFR VTA
• For larger national airports with complex airspace
• Eases en route to arrival or departure transition
• Depicts nothing not already on en route charts, the IAP, or departure procedure charts (TC AIM MAP 2.6)

VFR Terminal Procedures Chart (VTPC):

• Printed inside the CFS and CWAS
• Covers control zones and busy aerodromes too coarse for a VNC or VTA
• Depicts: Class F airspace, hazards, VFR routes and checkpoints, zone boundaries, communications, noise-sensitive areas, irregular circuits
• Scale varies, printed on the chart
• Not for precise lateral navigation: use VNC or VTA

Trap: VTPC is not standalone; it lives inside the CFS/CWAS.
